Building a Minimal E-Ink Computer — Prototype 1
I just wrapped up the first working version of a fully custom, portable E-Ink computer.
It runs on a Raspberry Pi Zero with a 7.5” Waveshare E-Ink screen, powered by a rechargeable battery and controlled by a Bluetooth keyboard. The whole interface is a custom terminal-style file manager, text editor, all displayed on the E-Ink screen.
The goal was simple: low-power, distraction-free writing, no apps, no browser, just focused work.
AshTF, Scott Yu-Jan, and the retro Pomera DM250 inspired this project.
